Maldives Luxury Liveaboards for Scuba Diving

 MV Yassawa Maldives Luxury Liveaboards

Departure Every Sunday + Monday

The Yasawa

The Yasawa has successfully cruised the Yasawa Islands in Fiji for many years and has now transferred to the Maldives. She was built in Fiji as a bespoke boutique cruise ship for a maximum of 66 guests and 25 crew. Each cabin is air-conditioned, has twin or double bed, en suite shower and toilet, mini safe and cabin furniture. Each cabin on A deck and the bridge deck have doors that open onto a promenade deck where you can sit and take morning coffee while watching the dolphins and flying fish. The dining area and main bar are on B deck which runs from mid ships to the aft rail. This is the perfect place for a sundowner in the early evening. The sides of this area have panoramic opening windows so you can take in the magical view of the desert islands framed against the azure blue sea whilst having breakfast and lunch

Two separate 7 days cruises are available on the ship. Cruise 1 takes in the Islands to the north the Male. Cruise 2 takes in the islands to the south of Male. So you can take a 7 or 14 day cruise visiting different islands on each cruise.
You can join the ship on a Sunday to Sunday basis or Monday to Monday, the only difference to the itinerary is that the Sunday to Sunday customers will visit Male on a Monday Morning while the Monday to Monday customers will visit Male on the Sunday afternoon.

Accommodation and Information

The accommodation on the ship is in cabins with double or twin beds with en suit shower and toilet. Each cabin is suitable for single or double occupancy.
The ship is small comfortable ship with a relaxed, very informal, atmosphere on board
. There is no dressing up for smart dinners or formal entertainment in the evening; it is what it says a desert island escape from daily routine. Dress code is shorts and swimwear during the day and casual dress in the evenings both on board and on the deserted islands. Shoes are optional.

Check In Procedures Each Blue Desert Island experience begins with a warm welcome on the Yasawa Princess. Cabin assignment and registration is handled efficiently and quickly. Your luggage is transported for you to your cabin.

Dive Times
Some Safari and Cruise boats in the Maldives only offer diving trips to a strict schedule, meaning guests have to choose between a full day’s diving - often from early morning until late at night, or no diving at all that day. On the Yasawa Princess we believe it should be you that chooses what to do from the list of services we offer. If you want to dive, you pick when and where from our list. If you want to snorkel you pick the time from our schedule. Alternatively you might just want to select your very own desert island discs on your iPod, stretch out on the beach and just relax in the sunshine.
If you do not dive often or are out of practice you might choose to use one of our dive buddies, either for a full day or just one dive. A dive buddy is not a diving instructor (you must be a fully qualified diver to use this service) but a member of the crew who is an experienced diver. They will get your equipment ready for you before the dive, give you an in depth briefing of the dive site and will help you with your underwater camera and equipment. More importantly they will never be more than two meters from your side, with a spare octopus available for your use if you need it. Dive buddies also carry full safety equipment with them. If you need to surface before the rest of the divers in the party, they will be with you just for your peace of mind, and will also assist you to remove your weights and equipment so your exit from the water back onto the boat will be much easier. A dive buddy is also available on the rib but this will reduce the number of guest divers to only two.

Captain's Dinner
The Captains dinner is held near the end of the week, if you are celebrating a special occasion we will invite you to join the captain at his table. The dress code is not formal but most people make a special effort or dress in tradition Maldivian attire. You can purchase a selection of Maldivian clothing from our dive shop.

Arriving in Male

When you arrive in Male airport you will be met by our personal representative. You will be escorted to the quay side, about 200 meters from the airport doors, to our transfer vessel. The Yasawa will be anchored near by ready to receive you. The crew will assist you by taking your baggage to your cabin, while you fill in the inevitable registration form. We make this as easy as possible for you by providing you with a refreshing drink and a cool towel! If you arrive on a morning flight some visitors to the Maldives like to take a light lunch with a drink, then have a siesta in their air conditioned cabin. This refreshes them ready for the evening meal.
